Currently we are involved in 24 prisons in the Southern and Eastern Regions of Malawi. There are three primary areas of focus.
Ministry of Presence – With many inmates fearing that they will be forgotten, we first began with the commitment to be present in their lives. Many prisons are visited either weekly or bi-weekly. An opportunity to lead Bible study, pray with them and offer one on one counseling.
Distribution of Basic Needs – Monthly we provide soap and medicine to each prison. Additionally we provide for other needs as they are requested (clothing, shoes, soya, bed mats, plastic cups, plates and cans)
Theological Education – In partnership with TEEM (Theological Education Extension Malawi) we have begun offering 1 yr certificate in theological, leadership and discipleship training. It will provide these men and woman the opportunity to not only learn, but to become leaders within the prisons and then once released the possibility to join our visiting team or to become leaders within their local church.
